The Spinning Top model
Designing relevant information for managers
For a number of years, management information has been at the forefront of
attention in both theory and practice. Organizations wrestle with the
question who should receive what information. This book introduces a model:
the Spinning Top model that helps to answer that question. The
factors in the model determine management information needs.
Building on the model the book also introduces a typology: the relevance
typology. After establishing the type of relevance typology the most
appropriate management information can easily be deduced.
